'Gotham Knights is Looking Very Technically Impressive in Spite of Being Cross-Gen'. In August 2022, it was revealed at Gamescom that the release date would move up from October 25 to October 21. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions were later cancelled. The game was later announced to be delayed until 2022.

Gotham Knights was revealed during a virtual event called DC FanDome in August 2020, planned to be released in 2021 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game were in development, but were ultimately cancelled due to the developer wanting to “provide players with the best possible gameplay experience.” Release Gotham Knights is being built in Unreal Engine 4.

The game is also unrelated to The CW's similarly-titled TV series, which features certain similar plot points such as Bruce Wayne's death and the Court of Owls as antagonists. The game is set in Gotham City after the deaths of Bruce Wayne / Batman (Michael Antonakos) and Police Commissioner James Gordon, which has resulted in a rise of crime and lawlessness. ĭuring the daytime, players will occupy the Belfry, which acts as the team's base of operations and allows players to switch characters and prepare for the next mission by managing progression, and upon leaving the Belfry, the game will fast forward to the nighttime. They can also use vehicles such as the Batcycle to explore the city. Players can level up their characters, but enemies will be automatically leveled up as well. While it can be played solo, the game also features a two-player cooperative multiplayer mode, wherein the second player can drop in and out at any time without affecting the other one. Each character has their own unique playstyle and abilities, such as Robin being able to teleport via the Justice League's satellite.

The game features four playable characters: Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood. Meanwhile, the promo trailer features previously shown footage of Suicide Squad and a card that lists both games as confirmed to appear during DC FanDome, which DC plans to host on October 16.Gotham Knights is an upcoming action role-playing game set in an open world Gotham City. On the poster, in particular, Harley Quinn serves as the Suicide Squad representative, while Batgirl stands in for Gotham Knights. Gotham Knights’ delay out of 2021 further inhibited its marketing presence, but that changes come mid-October.
